Term 1 week 3 learning log
hey...Today we learnt about the story of merchant of venice. It is also one of William Shakespeare's story. The story is about this man called Bassanio wanted to marry this lady called Portia. Portia does not want to marry him because he does not have any money. So no money no honey. Bassanio was so desperate and went to meet his best friend, Antonio. So Antonio lent him three thousands ducats but during that time Antonio has no money because he has sent off his ship to overseas. He will only get his money when the ships came back to him. Antonio borrowed money from a Jewish moneylender, Shylock. Antonio dislikes Shylock because he is jew. So Bassanio succeeded to win Portia heart. One day, Antonio's ship sank with all his wealth. So Antonio can't pay Shylock in time.So Portia and her husband decided to hep him. So quietly, Portia and her maid disguise themselves to be a male lawyers. This story is very interesting. So currently doing the literature homework about the characters. Traits and the evidence. Must hand in next lesson.
